Why should you be a digital parent?

As the Kenyan national attention on education and technology intensifies, there is an urgent need to invest not only in classroom technology, but also in technology that links the school and home learning environments to better enable parents to support their children’s learning.

Equipping the Kenyan parents with the digital tools and training them on how to help their children succeed is a wise investment by our parents and government too.

Digital parents have high educational aspirations for their children.

One of the most effective ways parents  can help their children achieve ambitious educational goals is to become involved in their children’s education.

Research shows that children whose parents are knowledgeable about and engaged in their homework assignments, talk with them about school, and help plan their education achieve higher test scores, make better grades, have better school attendance, and demonstrate better behaviour at school and at home.

Parents setting high academic expectations for children has also consistently been shown to have a positive correlation with test scores.

therefore its important that each parent is a digital parent.
