What are nouns?

Nouns are naming words.

-They are names of people, animals, things, places and ideas.

-There are different types nouns.

-Look at the following video;

 

COMPOUND NOUNS PLUS POSSESSIVE

-Compound nouns can be made possessive by adding an apostrophe and s at the end the word.

-They tell us who or what owns or has possession of something.

-Examples;

  • Desk of the shopkeeper-The shopkeeper desk

  • House of father-in-law-Father-in-law's house

  • Luggage of sportsman-sportsman's luggage

-Noun groups are names used to describe something using more than one word.

-They consist of; an article or a determiner and one or more than adjectives or adverbs.
