Going to school

 

We should always be very careful while crossing the road or walking along the road to avoid being hit by a car, bicycle or motorcycle.

 

Crossing the road

  • Before crossing the road, stop and listen.
  • Look right, look left, look right again, if there are no motor vehicles coming cross the road quickly but do not run.
  • Where the road has a zebra crossing please use it. A zebra crosing is also called a pedestrian crossing.
  • Walk on the provided foot path.
  • You can also cross the road at the traffic lights.

 

Traffic lights

  • Red light means stop to vehicles, and people can then cross the road. Red for peole also means stop and motor vehicles can drive off.
  • Orange/amber means get ready to go.
  • Green means go to vehicles, People should not try to cross the road.
  • Never play on the road as this may cause accidents and you might get hurt.
  • Never get off a moving vehilcle.
  • Because you might fall and seriously hurt.
  • Pedestrians travel on foot and should never cross the road at a corner.
