Usage of Things Found at Home

Some of the things found at home

Tools

A jembe is used for digging.

A slashers are used to cut long grasses.

A saw is used to cut timber.

An axe is used to cut trees.

A hammer is used to fix or remove nails from timber.

A pair of scissors is used to cut cloth or hair.

A screw driver is used to fix or remove screws.

 

Furniture

We sit on a chair

We keep our things in the cupboard.

We sleep on a bed

We keep our things in the wardrobe.

We eat our food or write on a table.

 

Animals

Dogs give us security.

Cats chase away rats and mice from our houses.

Cows, goats and camels give us meat and milk.

Hens and ducks give us meat and eggs.

 

We get meat (mutton) and wool from sheep.

Camels and donkeys help us to carry heavy loads.

Pigs and rabbits give us meat.

We cook food in a sufuria.

We eat using spoons and forks.

 

Other things and their uses

We use bicycles and cars when travelling.

A hand cart and a wheelbarrow are used to carry heavy loads.

We use brooms for sweeping.

We get news from radios and T.V’s (Televisions)

We cook on a jiko.

Plants give us food, timber, shade and medicine.
