Models

Nets can be made from solids such as cubes, cuboids and cylinders by cutting the solids along the edges and opening them out to show their faces or surfaces.

We can also draw accurate net diagrams of solids.

The nets can then be cut out and folded to make models of the solids.

The net consists of two circular ends and a rectangular shape whose length is equal to the circumference of the circular ends as shown below.

Draw also the nets of the solids.

Use broken lines to indicate the hidden lines and edges in the solids and lines where nets can be folded to form models of the solids.
