The challenged

Behaviourally and emotionally challenged

  • These are people who behave in a strange way, different from what is usual or expected.
  • Sometimes they do strange things like talk to themselves or say they can see things that are not there.
  • People may become behaviourally and emotionally disturbed after an accident that caused brain damage.
  • Other causes are abuse of drugs, sickness, extreme torture or mistreatment, frustration or the death of a loved one.
  • Sometimes people with this kind of challenge can be violent and may hurt others or themselves.

How can we help them?

  1. We need to love and accept them.
  2. We should not provoke them to anger.
  3. We should pray for them.
  4. Our teachers and parents can guide us on how to assist them.
