2. A hawker was given a discount of 10% on a price of a tray of eggs. The marked price of a tray of eggs was Sh 200. If she sold an egg at Sh 9, what was her percentage profit.

Hint: A tray has 30 eggs.

 

3. A land agent charges a commission of 5% of the value of each parcel of land sold. In one transaction he received Sh 40 500 as commission. What was the value of the parcel of land?

 

4. Moiben deposited Sh 50 000 in a savings account. The bank pays compound interest at the rate of 10% per annum. How much did he get at the end of 3 years.

 

5. The hire purchase price of a bicycle is Sh 6 500. The deposit is 40% of the cash price. The cash price is Sh 5 400and the monthly instalment is Sh 434. Calculate the number of months in which the hire purchase price is paid. 

 

6. Work out the postal charge for the telegram shown below (Sh 1.15 is charged per word).
