• Direct contact like sexually transmitted infections
Air contains droplets of water, which may contain germs that cause disease.
Disease germs in the mouth or nose can be removed from the body through the moisture breathed out, sneezed or coughed.

- When such food or water is taken by a healthy person, he/she may get disease.
- Typhoid and cholera are examples of diseases that are transmitted in this way.
