Cleopatra

Cleopatra — The last Pharaoh of Egypt

I am the Nile, said Cleopatra

Yes, she was the conqueror

She spoke nine tongues, and all she mastered

She crunched numbers, and math she blasted

She sailed in thirst across the seas

And swore one day to seize some Caesars

The last pharaoh of Egypt, Cleopatra

Yes, she was the conqueror

Julius Caesar, the Roman emperor

Went to Africa, to search for Cleopatra

He looked in vain, and travelled far

To find the Queen, the shooting star

I am the Nile, said Cleopatra

Yes, she was the conqueror

A gift arrived in Rome, well rolled

A Persian carpet adorned with gold

Julius said, let this unfold

Out tumbled Cleo, beautifully bold

Surprise, surprise! her sweet voice told

Then Caesar gasped, all dazed and sold

The Queen became his Iris

With her, they ruled an empire

She said I’ll dish out justice

Which makes the world perspire

Who cares said Cleo,

and why I am the Nile,

born Pisces

And when the Nile runs dry

I’ll be your Goddess Isis!
